Strong gusts challenged but did not deter participants in the 22nd annual Santa Barbara Kite Festival Sunday.

Wind speeds hit 25 mph, making launches and landings difficult during much of the afternoon gathering sponsored by K-LITE 101.7 and KEYT3 TV. The event drew dozens of families to the Santa Barbara City College West Campus.
Forecasts call for a mostly sunny and breezy week ahead with highs in the 60s.
